Service Description

*** THIS EVENT IS FULLY BOOKED ** Due to the popularity of this event we may run it again. Please email fedsec@bedfordshirewis.org.uk if you would like to add your name to the waiting list. Visit two museums with an hour’s tour at each museum. The Higgins Bedford unites on one site three previous cultural venues: Cecil Higgins Art Gallery, Bedford Museum and Bedford Gallery. The buildings themselves date back 200 years and have their own rich history of occupation and use, even before they became used for their more recent cultural past. The Panacea Museum is set in a beautiful Victorian house and gardens that was part of the community’s headquarters. It tells the story of the Panacea Society and other similar religious groups. The day will start at The Higgins Museum, Castle Lane Bedford MK40 3XD. Please arrive for 11am with the tour starting at 11.15. This will be followed by lunch at the Pantry, located adjacent to The Higgins Museum. Lunch will be payable by yourself on the day. Menus will be distributed for pre order. Following lunch we will cross the road to the Panacea Museum, ready for the next tour to at 2pm. There is a coffee shop and a small retail shop at The Panacea Museum. Lurke Street Car Park, MK40 3HZ is a 5 -10 mins walk to the museums. Cost is £10.00 per member and £12 for friends and family. Closing date for applications: Thursday 15 February 2024
